Ten teams will bring their breweries (see the January 17 sign-up Meetup for details). Three surprise ingredients will be revealed and all will brew. Tasting and judging will follow at the March meeting.
Also, some time during the brew day we will have a tech talk:
New member and long time brewer Paul Feinstein will join us and give a short talk about a yeast strain that he brought to the US from Belgium and will be released very soon by Wyeast as a platinum seasonal release. Paul says it will be released under the name "Belgian Stout" and he will explain the strain, his history with it, and its applications.
9 out of 10 teams signed up as of the end of the day today. One more spot left!
@Bob - Of course, Iron Brewer is perfect for new brewers to see to get inspired. Send them to the event, and tell them to bring homebrew!
how bout chicken and a side dish to share, will the bbq be going?
Yes on side dish...we still are trying to get in touch with Don about the BBQ.
I've just spoken with Don Payne and he is willing to fire up the locomotive BBQ for
us this Sunday! So if you would like to eat some BBQ, every group or family should
bring along a raw chicken or veggies wrapped in tin foil. The resulting feast will
be shared, so don't expect to get your exact piece of chicken back. Also, please
bring along a side dish to share with all so everyone stays happy and well fed all
day. And bring homebrew!
Should we cut up and season said chicken or just bring the bird and hand it off??
Miguel Just bring it...Don wont know whos is whos at serving time!
Ya i got that, was just tryin to save someone the trouble of hackin it up if that was the case. Wow someone is gonna cook them for us too, i feel so speacial
